Meet the leadership team at MAG USA.
Martin Jones serves as CEO and President of MAG USA overseeing the development of Manchester Airport Group’s (MAG) North American Airport services business. MAG USA brings three new business lines to the US market; Car Parking Services, P3 Airport Terminal & Retail developments and Escape Lounges (common-use airport lounges).
Martin joined MAG USA following his role as Commercial Director and Deputy CEO for Manchester Airport Group (MAG) at London Stansted Airport. During his tenure, passenger numbers increased from 24.3m to almost 29m with the number of carriers increasing from 13 to 24. Car parking capacity and revenue increased by over 30% and the terminal was reconfigured bringing new choices for departing passengers to shop and eat. As a result, London Stansted is set to become the 3rd largest and fastest growing UK airport in 2018/19.
Before joining MAG, Martin was Head of UK Sales Channels for Vodafone and prior to that role was CEO of Marks and Spencer Reliance India which became their fastest growing international division during his tenure.
Michael Boland, formerly the First Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), which manages and operates O’Hare International (ORD) and Midway International (MDW) Airports. In addition, the CDA is responsible for the implementation of the O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP).
Prior to this, Michael was the First Deputy Director with the OMP (O’Hare Modernisation Program), worked in the Mayor’s Office and served as Deputy Commissioner of Intergovernmental Affairs within the CDA.
Before working for the city, Michael worked in the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate. He is a graduate of Duke University and the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
John is a Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA), who has advised some of the largest companies in the UK on process, system developments and data validation. John oversees the E-Commerce and Business Intelligence Software development & integration, which play a fundamental role in delivering the Parking Strategy and driving revenue. He has also led on the multi-million dollar Car Park Revenue Control System tender for East Midlands Airport installed in February 2016.
MAG has benefited from John’s extensive knowledge of all the systems involved in delivering a profitable and efficient Car Park Business. His understanding of the end to-end process and system integration proves vital in running a successful operation. More recently, John also facilitated an audit and data validation program, plus a review of the MAG Payment Service Providers for both the Car Park Revenue Control Systems and e-Commerce solutions.

His creativity and knowledge of the airport and lounge industry deliver unparalleled expertise and guidance for airports looking to expand their premium offerings.
After an extensive amount of years in the entertainment, event and hospitality industry, Sid Higgins joined the award-winning No.1 Lounges, a U.K. based premium common-use lounge provider with lounges in London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, as well as Birmingham and Edinburgh airports. At No.1, Mr. Higgins was Head of Operations and later was appointed as Head of Projects, overseeing a £6m redevelopment of lounges at London’s Gatwick airport.
As Vice President of Commercial for Escape Lounges for MAG USA, Mr. Higgins is responsible for the establishment, growth and operation of the Escape Lounges in the U.S., while maintaining the brand promise to our customers and our brand values through excellent customer service.
Rob serves as the Project Delivery Director for MAG USA, covering lounges, car parking and terminal development sectors for Manchester Airport Group’s U.S.-based business. Rob is charged with directing all facets of the end-to-end delivery of lounges and commercial development programs in North America based on his 14-plus years of airport development experience, ranging from baggage handling systems to commercial terminal retail programming and development.
Rob began his career with EYP Architects and Engineers, gaining experience in architectural and engineering design for numerous higher educational and laboratory facilities including Harvard University, City University of New York and University of Maryland Baltimore County. After working with UK-based AMEC Construction Management to gain management experience on the construction side of projects, in 2004 Rob joined BAA USA (now AIRMALL USA), an airport concessions development company where he was the Development Director from 2010-2015.
Based out of MAG USA’s Chicago headquarters, Liam was one of only two colleagues relocated to the USA to contribute to the initial setup of MAG’s North American Business in 2015. Liam now works as a Commercial Business Partner, responsible for Business Development for both existing and new airport lounge locations.
Prior to joining MAG USA, Liam acted as Retail Business Partner at London Stansted Airport, working on an £80m retail redevelopment of the departure lounge. He worked with local and global retail brands as well as numerous airport departments to ensure timely delivery of an outstanding quality retail offering and passenger lounge, delivered on budget and to time.
Liam began his career with MAG in the UK after completing a degree in Aviation Technology. During that time, Liam worked in various airports and departments including; Retail Commercial, Customer Services, Resource & Planning, Terminal Engineering and Health & Safety; all of which gave him a broad experience across the airport business.
